Issue Resolution Files

Uploading Files to an Issue

To upload a file and associate it with an Issue:

  1. Navigate to the Issue’s Detail View.

  2. Select the “+” button in the Files section.

User can drag and drop files or browse and select files from the explorer. Multiple files can be added for upload.

If a file was already uploaded to the project's File Management module, there is no need to upload it again to an Issue: User can associate the file.

Once the file(s) is uploaded, a success alert message will appear on the top right hand corner with a green check mark.

Downloading Files from an Issue

User can download files associated with an Issue by using the Download Files button. Every file associated with the selected report will be downloaded as a compressed (ZIP) file.

Download Files button is disabled until one or more files are uploaded.

Deleting Files from an Issue

To delete associated files from an Issue:

  1. Click on the checkboxes next to the files.

  2. Click the “Delete” button.

Note: Deletion of a file associated with an Issue is permanent and can not be reversed.

Associating Files to an Issue

Instead of uploading a file directly to an Issue, user can also associate an existing file uploaded to a project's File Management module. Files can have multiple Issue associations, and the file will be displayed in each Issue's detailed view.

One file can not be associated to the same Issue multiple times.

Dynamic Linking

User can turn dynamic linking on/off when associating a file to an Issue.
Revisions can be uploaded to the files from File Management's folder Detail View, and if the latest revision is changed, it will update for all associated Issues if dynamic linking is turned on.
If dynamic linking is turned off, changing the latest revision in the File Management module will not change the revision in associated Issues.

To associate a file to an Issue:

  1. Navigate to the "Files" section in an Issue's Detail View.

  2. Click on the link button (see screenshot below)

  3. A new window will open, displaying the File Management Module's folder tree structure.

  4. Select the files to associate to the Issue.

  5. Turn Dynamic Linking on/off via the check box in the top right corner of the new window

  6. Click on "Associate" button.

The selected files will now appear in the Issue's "Files" section.

Files in File Management with multiple Issue associations can not be deleted without confirmation.

Uploading Folder Structure

Instead of simply uploading multiple files into one Issue, user can also upload entire folder structures (with subfolders, files). These structures need to be archived/zipped prior to upload, and infinitrac will upload and unpack them into the selected Issue.

To upload a folder structure:

  1. Navigate to the "Files" section in an Issue's Detail View.

  2. Click on the “Upload Folder Structure” button (see screenshot below)

  3. A new window will open, displaying a dropzone where user can drag and drop files or browse and select files from the explorer.

  4. Click on “Upload” button, located in the dropzone.

The accepted extensions (zip, tar, gz) will also be displayed.

Uploading large/multitude of files and folders can take time, depending on the internet connection. User will receive an e-mail notification as soon as the upload finishes, including details of the uploaded folder structure's location within the file management module.
