Searching Guide

 The Search bar allows the user to search for any files located within File Management. The Search Results allow the user to go straight to the file's parent folder, download the file, or view a thumbnail of the file (if it is an image or PDF). The search bar is available on the header of every page in infinitrac.

Documents will be indexed into the infinitrac search engine within 15 minutes of upload.

By default, all document attributes and content will be included in a search, unless otherwise specified. The following are some characteristics of various types of searches and their operators:

• Searching for: The Right Way, will search for each word independently. Search results will include: The, Right and Way.

• Searching for: "The Right Way," will search for the phrase specified in quotes, instead of searching for each word independently.

Phrases and / or words may be combined in a search using AND, OR or NOT as operators:

• "The Right Way" AND go

• Search results will include both the phrase "The Right Way" and the word "go."

• "The Right Way" OR go

• Search results will include either the phrase "The Right Way" OR the word "go."

• "The Right Way" NOT go

• Search results will include the quoted phrase "The Right Way", but not the word go.

Searchable Items for any files located within File Management are:

• File Name

• Original File Name

• Revision Title

• Drawing Number

• Content (PDF, Text)

• Vendor Drawing Number

• File Category*

• Vendor*

• Discipline*

• Description*

• Comments*

Searchable Items with an asterisk (*) are OPTIONAL and may not apply to all infinitrac Instances.
